6 Weekly Groups
at Shenandoah University
April 10 - May 15, 2025

This Community Music Group is a space for adults of all backgrounds, identities, and abilities, focused on fostering social connection and community through shared musical experiences. Participants will have the opportunity to connect with others and express themselves through group music-making, creative exploration, and discussion. No musical background is required.

The Group...

Will be tailored to the interests, skills, and dynamics of the participants. It may include elements of jamming with a group, learning an instrument, exploring music technology, writing a song, learning how music can support mental health and well-being, and more. Instruments, such as a piano, guitars, ukuleles, floor drums, and other hand-held instruments will be provided, though you're welcome to bring your own. And again, no musical background or experience is required - just a desire to connect with others through music.

Meet the Facilitators

The group will be supported by two board-certified music therapists and three music therapy students from Shenandoah University.
